Starting at OMAS, step by step.
For families, for the person themselves and for professionals. How joining works, what a day costs, how it can be funded and how to make a referral. Anything unclear? Just ask.

Six small steps. No rush.
It's the same whether you get in touch yourself, a family member does, or a professional refers you.
- Step 1
Talk to Us
Give us a ring or send a WhatsApp. Tell us a little about who it's for and what they'd love from their day.
- Step 2
Come & Meet Us
Pop in, have a look around and meet the team. Bring every question you've got.
- Step 3
Get to Know Each Other
We chat about interests, how the person communicates, what they're good at and any support they need.
- Step 4
Try a Taster Day
Spend a real day with us. Join in, or just soak it up and see how it feels.
- Step 5
Agree the Right Support
If OMAS feels right, we agree together how best to support the person.
- Step 6
Welcome to OMAS
Your first proper day. Time to start enjoying it.
Nobody knows them like you do.
Choosing somewhere for someone you love is a big decision. You know the little things that make their day. Tell us, so we get to know the person, not just their paperwork. We'd love to hear about:
Once they start, we keep talking. Tell us about changes at home, and we'll keep you in the loop about how they're getting on. No question is too small.

Good food, good company.
Lunch is one of the nicest parts of the day: sitting down together for a natter. Before anyone starts, we talk through dietary needs, allergies, cultural preferences and any help with eating and drinking.
Getting hereTravel, sorted together.
Clear costs. No surprises.
We walk you through the daily fee before anyone starts: what's included and whether anything costs extra.
Ways to pay for your day.
Some people pay privately. Others use funding arranged through adult social care. If funding isn't sorted yet, get in touch anyway and we'll explain your options.
A referral that starts with the person.
Social workers, commissioners, case managers and health professionals: a referral isn't about filling a place. We want to understand who someone is and whether OMAS is the right fit. Where it helps, we work alongside families and the other professionals in their life.
- What matters to the person?
- What do they enjoy?
- What are their interests and strengths?
- What would they like to learn or experience?
- What helps them communicate and make choices?
- What level of support or enhanced support do they require?
- What would attending OMAS mean for them?

No surprises. We talk everything through, clearly, before anyone starts.
Quick answers
If your question isn't here, give us a ring. No pressure, just a conversation.
Talk to usCan I try OMAS before deciding?
Absolutely, and we'd encourage it. Pop in for a cuppa and a look around, then book a taster day to see what a real day feels like.
How do people get to OMAS?
However suits you best: family drop-off and collection, travelling independently, or arranged transport. Pick-up and drop-off options are available in some areas, so just ask.
What does a day cost?
We'll talk you through the daily fee before anyone starts: what's included (meals, refreshments and activities) and anything extra, like arranged transport or special outings. No surprises.
How can a place be funded?
Some people pay privately. Others use Direct Payments, a Personal Budget or Local Authority funding. Not sure which applies to you? Ask us and we'll explain the options.
Do you offer care at home as well?
Yes. The family behind OMAS also runs True Care 247, a CQC-registered home care service across Altrincham, Trafford and Cheshire. If someone needs support at home too, it can come from people who already know them.
Who can make a referral?
Anyone. Families, carers and professionals such as social workers or case managers all refer to us, and you're very welcome to get in touch for yourself.
